Disclaimer
What hypnotherapy is and is not, what this website does and does not claim, and the situations in which a doctor or clinical service is the right first step.
The short version
Everything below expands on that statement. It is written plainly rather than defensively, because you are entitled to understand the limits of a service before paying for it.
This is not medical advice or treatment
Hypnotherapy Pvt Ltd provides hypnotherapy. Vibha Jain is a hypnotherapy practitioner, not a medical doctor, registered dietitian, psychologist or psychiatrist.
Sessions do not diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease or medical condition. Nothing said in a session, and nothing published on this website, should be interpreted as a diagnosis or as advice about medication.
Content on this website is general education. It is not tailored to you, does not take your circumstances into account, and should not be relied on in place of advice from a professional who knows your history.
No guarantees, and no outcome claims
We do not claim, and you should not infer, that hypnotherapy will produce any specific weight loss, any result within any timeframe, or any permanent change.
Specifically, we make none of the following claims:
- That weight loss is guaranteed.
- That you will lose a particular amount in a particular period.
- That hypnotherapy cures obesity or any related condition.
- That results are permanent.
- That it works for everyone.
- That it removes the need for attention to eating and physical activity.
- That it is clinically proven or scientifically guaranteed as a weight-loss treatment.
If you encounter any of these claims elsewhere — from any practitioner — treat them as a reason for caution rather than confidence.
How we describe the evidence
Research into hypnosis for weight management exists but is limited in scale. Reviews of the available trials generally report modest additional benefit when hypnosis is combined with behavioural or cognitive-behavioural approaches, while noting small sample sizes, variable study quality and difficulties in constructing meaningful control conditions.
Where this website characterises research, it does so in these general terms deliberately. We do not publish specific statistics, percentages, trial results or citations that we cannot support, and we do not invent studies, institutions or expert endorsements. You are encouraged to consult the primary literature yourself through PubMed or comparable sources.
Weight is multifactorial
Body weight is influenced by many factors, a number of which lie entirely outside the scope of hypnotherapy: genetics, hormonal and metabolic factors, medical conditions, prescribed medication, sleep, stress, physical activity, socioeconomic circumstances, food environment and access.
Hypnotherapy addresses one part of that picture — behaviour, habit and emotional response around eating. Any approach presenting weight as purely a matter of individual behaviour is oversimplifying, and any approach presenting it as purely a matter of willpower is both inaccurate and unkind.
Organisations including the World Health Organization and the NHS publish general guidance on weight and health that is worth reading alongside anything offered here.
When hypnotherapy is not appropriate
Please seek medical or specialist clinical advice — rather than, or before, hypnotherapy — in the following situations:
- A diagnosed or suspected eating disorder, including anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa or binge-eating disorder. These require specialist treatment and hypnotherapy is not a substitute for it.
- Unexplained weight loss or gain, which should be investigated by a doctor.
- Untreated severe depression, psychosis, dissociative conditions or active substance dependence.
- Suspected medical or hormonal causes such as thyroid conditions, PCOS or medication effects.
- Pregnancy, where weight management should be directed by your doctor or midwife.
- Any situation requiring urgent care. This practice is not an emergency service.
Where any of these emerge during an initial consultation, you will be told plainly and directed towards appropriate care, including where that means declining to work with you.
Testimonials and case studies
This website publishes no client testimonials, no before-and-after photographs and no case studies. That is a deliberate choice rather than an oversight.
Any testimonials added in future will be genuine, given voluntarily, published with explicit written consent, and will not be presented as typical or expected results. Nothing described anywhere on this site refers to an identifiable client.
